"I am a mixed media artist. When I work with mixed media I am reminded that I have more options than I have education; I have seen what other artist do, and been taught in and out of classrooms. I am reminded of why I make art: I can express myself as I truly feel and its more fun then doing most other things. I learned at a young age that drawing not only gives me the ability to pay attention to my surroundings (doodling in class), but it also is there to help me achieve complete escape. If a picture is truly worth 1000 words, then my art work can best articulate my thoughts. Most times I make art for something to do.
In the studio, I make a huge mess. I am dripping paint off the edges of the canvas, I am throwing the canvas through the air, spray-painting, inside, outside, glue in my hair. I get my headphones on and I paint in rhythm to the music. I do my best to not allow my head full of thoughts, to interfere with my table full of media.
I like to mix non-objective art with human form. I love the organic shapes, and not having to know what that is or what that means. I do not make art that describes my inner-being; i do not paint live to fully achieve the energy that can transcend a music venue. I paint my paintings because i like the way they look, and i paint live because it is fun as hell."
